Print it at roughly 2 × 2 cm minimum for a table tent or a menu card, where guests scan from 20–30 cm away. Keep the white quiet zone around the code — about four modules wide — and never place the code across a fold or under a glossy laminate that reflects the ceiling lights. Dark code on a light background always beats the reverse.
Test the printed proof with two or three real phones before you order the full run, in the actual lighting of your dining room. A code that scans on screen can still fail on paper if the contrast or the ink spread is off.
