On a standard 85 × 55 mm card, 1.8 to 2 cm square is enough and leaves the layout breathing room. A vCard holds far more data than a short URL, so the code has more modules and finer detail — do not shrink it below 1.5 cm, and keep the quiet zone. Ask your printer for at least 600 dpi and, if you can, supply the SVG rather than the PNG.

Keep the fields short. Every extra line — a long job title, a second address — adds modules and makes the code denser and harder to scan. Name, company, mobile, email and one URL is the sweet spot.

Static or dynamic?

Static works well: the contact details are stored in the code and it keeps working with no account and no server. Dynamic is optional and useful mainly if you expect to change employer or phone number while cards are still in circulation — then the code can point to a contact page you can edit.
